Introduction

Yesterday was our first anniversary. On August 3, 2013, we got married, vowing to deal with each others' habits and hobbies till death do us part. One of these was sailing, which David had introduced me to shortly after we started dating. Luckily for him, I fell in love with it just as easily as I had fallen in love with him (barf).  We bought Circe IV, a Jouet 760 from France, in the summer of 2011, and sailing became the mainstay (pardon the pun) of our summers. Our first summer with the boat, we sailed Lake Ontario from Kingston to Toronto and back. The next summer, we towed Circe IV to Manitoulin Island to tour Lake Huron's North Channel. It was there, on our first night in a secluded bay, that David proposed. Instead of asking me to marry him, he asked me to join him on this great adventure called life. Of course, I said yes (must have been the wine) and the rest is history!

Here we are two years later, preparing to set out on our next great adventure, this time to Lake Champlain in Vermont. We know nothing about how a blog works, so this in itself is a whole other adventure, but we'll figure it out along the way. We hope the blog will force us to take some decent photos and document our adventures for posterity, and for our friends and family to live vicariously through us. Maybe we'll even convert a few of you to join us in this fantastic sailing lifestyle...
