A Weekend in Burlington

We are now in Burlington. It is Saturday night and we're just prepping dinner at our friend Corey's house. Corey is not here though, he is at a wedding. But we've happily taken over his home for the evening.

We had a rough night last night in the Burlington harbour. It was wavy and the windy was shifty, and in our little boat we were getting tossed around like crazy. It took us an hour to secure everything, and then the wind died down and the waves picked up and we got dangerously close to another boat, so we had to move at 1 am. Then our keel wouldn't stop banging. Circe IV has a swing keel that is great when you want to get into shallow nooks and crannies. Our boat can go into waters as shallow as three feet with the keel pulled up. However, when she's swaying from side to side, the keels bangs against the hull, which reverberates throughout the entire boat. Needless to say, we got very little sleep.

We decided to take Corey up on his offer to stay at his place tonight. Last night and today we got an awesome tour of Burlington, which is a neat little town. Every Friday night there is a food truck lot where a bunch of local food trucks set up in a deserted parking lot and there are DJs and drinks. It was awesome. It was a very popular event attended by all of Burlington's hipsters (good thing I wore my skinny jeans). Here is David partaking in a local brew at the food truck lot:

We then headed to the Citizen Cider cider house for a glass, where we hung out on the patio with the dogs. Good times with good friends! Thanks to Corey and Faye for showing us what awesome things Burlington has to offer!

Tomorrow we are going for a day sail to Shelburne. More to come!
